In the Victorian era, our building was originally a greengrocers owned by an Armenian immigrant who called himself George Charles. These days, we honour that heritage by using the freshest ingredients in our dishes, and cooking everything from scratch, right down to the homemade cakes we sell on the bar.
We believe in serving simple, tasty and unpretentious food. During the day, brunch and lunch are available until 3pm and our evening menu starts at 5pm.
Our gin selection features small scale distillers from all over the country, but with a particular bias to the North West. Similarly, we keep our cask ales strictly local. Our sister restaurant The Con Club in Altrincham brews our Federation ale in its microbrewery, and we have a rotating selection of favourites on the bar.
We keep our cocktails simple and strong. Fancy something lighter? Order a spritzer and enjoy some late afternoon sunshine at one of our outside tables.
